English Teacher – English First - Shanghai, CN               Currently Employed      上海某学校英语教师

At English First I am employed as an English teacher at one of the children centers in Shanghai, CN. 

I teach a multitude of classes ranging from ages 3-17 which at the youngest and most elementary levels consists of teaching the alphabet, building a vocabulary base, learning phonics, stressing correct pronunciation and simple sentences and writing vocabulary through interactive games, workbooks, scripted videos, and student to student guided activities. At the oldest and most advance levels I teach a diverse range of topics to elicit discussions from students, build a highly intellectual vocabulary base, practice essay writing, and grow presentation skills by using the textbook activities, watching videos, reading articles and short stories and excerpts from novels. 

All classes are prepared for with lesson plans.

In order to track the progress of the students I update progress reports for every student, check homework, grade quizzes and tests, and meet with parents to discuss their child’s level of English and behavior. 

English Teacher - Pacific States University - Los Angeles, CA, USA Summer 2012

I was employed as an English teacher for South Korean students from Konkuk University.  I spoke English with around 30 students daily. The student’s English comprehension and speaking skills was intermediate to advance.

My days included teaching an English class in the morning and field trips afterwards within the Los Angeles, California area.  Our groups changed every few days so I could meet and speak with the greatest variety of students possible.

The student’s also kept journals, which were written in English, which I reviewed and commented on to evaluate their English comprehension.

Business Intern – Pasadena Heritage - Pasadena, CA, USA July 2011 to October 2011

I worked with the Executive Director and five other employees at a local non-profit historic preservation organization in Pasadena, California.  I volunteered on a regular weekly basis, including weekend hours, and performed a variety of tasks for multiple projects.

My work included administrative and clerical tasks, data entry, and construction assistance.

I also provided essential assistance with general office duties related to Pasadena Heritage’s 3-day Craftsman Weekend conference, taking and processing ticket orders, creating signage, providing logistical support, and staffing several of the events.  I worked well with staff members, other volunteers, and the public. 

 LCC International - Language and Culture Coaching Completed March 26, 2012          语言以及文化培训

I completed a TESL course at the University of California, Los Angeles.  This intensive 100+ hour TESL course includes lesson planning, classroom management techniques, skills development (grammar, pronunciation, listening, speaking, reading and writing), teaching strategies, teaching multi-level classes, Business English, TOEFL preparation, teaching young learners and observed teaching practice.

Whittier College – Bachelor of Arts in International Business September 2006 to December 2010     本科学士学位

I completed a 4-year Business Administration degree and all the requirements for an International Business Concentration.  I was also a member of the Men’s Water Polo and Swimming Teams.
