KEELE for JAPAN – Tsunami Relief (2011) Raised: £2,216

Participated in raising money for the British Red Cross Tsunami relief

Lobbied and organized small daily activities to raise money.

Kyōto Buddy Scheme (2010-2012)

Volunteered to become a buddy to Japanese exchange students for 3 consecutive years.

Acted as a guiding figure by escorting them to different cities within the UK during their stay.

Mentor (2010)

Volunteered to become a mentor to Korean international students coming to Keele University for the first time.

Keele University Broadcasting and Entertainment (KUBE) Radio (2010-2011)

Personally delivered a segment with colleagues called: Eastern Ob[sessions] -  a 2 hour show on Asian music, also focusing on Korean, Japanese and Chinese popular culture and media. 

Aston Pride (2007)

Volunteered to become a sports leader in the UK (Level 1 Award) enabling me to teach various sports to younger children within the Aston Community.

Became a representative of Aston Community, launching the festival at Villa Park

Was given the responsibilities of covering, issuing, returning & re-shelving books as well as using a computerised library system; Dewey Decimal System

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

CAI HONG ZHONG XUE (September 2012 – July 2013) A top tier high school in Xianyang, Shaanxi China. Recognised for their consistent production of high achieving students – with a 97% pass rate for GAOKAO.      

Worked 5 days a week, (20 hours) teaching spoken English, grammar, culture/customs etc to High-school students (18 classes with an average of 70+ students per classroom) 

Designed, wrote & utilised lesson plans conforming to the school’s curriculum. 

Broadway School Security Personnel -Security Guard (August 2007–2008)        

Patrolled and monitored the AstroTurf & playing grounds within the school complex, overseeing its smooth running.
