Position:  English Teacher

During this internship as a full-time English teacher in Suzhou, China, I am teaching students aged 7-9 (Grades 1- 3).  This position requires constant dedication to the students in providing them with interactive and dynamic activities to capture their interest and focus.  I bring my caring and kind personality to this role and find it extremely rewarding to see the positive impact have on my students. 

June 2014- Aug 2014  School: ISIS Education Summer School

Position: English Teacher

This was a summer school placement.  My role was as an English Teacher for children aged 11-16.  This was my first formal teaching job.  It required me to be dynamic and enthusiastic to keep the class engaged, as there were many difficult students.  I loved the challenge. This experience gave me the necessary tools to be an exciting teacher and a disciplinarian when need be.  Each day helped me grow as a teacher.  Each lesson was 1.5 hours so having an interesting lesson plan with a solid structure was key.  I left with the highest commendations from the principal, who offered me a permanent position, however I declined as I was offered a teaching position in Suzhou, China.

Feb 2012- June 2014  Company: TRAGUS   Restaurant: Café Rouge

Position:  Part-time Supervisor

Responsibilities:  This role requires me to be organized and lead a team of 20 members in order to run a top restaurant efficiently. 

Skills Acquired:    Leadership, Organization, Management, Teamwork and Working under pressure.

Relevant Experience

· Working in a multicultural restaurant I have found myself in a teaching role, having to explain to international workers more complex grammar and vocabulary.  This is a part of being a good leader, and vital in offering customers the best experience.

· Since May 2012, I have taken my enthusiasm for teaching to a weekly group where I lead small groups of individuals in language tasks.  This tutoring service is aimed at helping them develop their language skills.  I find this especially rewarding because I can see the impact I am having on them.

· I have a lot of experience working with children.  I have a natural gift for being their friend, but also their leader.  It is for these personal talents that I believe teaching children is a perfect fit for my skill set.
