EXPERIENCE

English Teacher Shanghai Oriental Ladder Bilingual School (August 2014 – present)

I currently teach English, Maths and PE to grades 1 and 3, and English classes for the school’s Chinese teachers. I use a range of modern TEFL techniques, as well as using interactive technology and multimedia software, and have presented training workshops for other teachers on how to implement these in the classroom. I have been acting supervisor of the foreign language department, which required management of a two week winter camp, as well as organisation of scheduling and teaching.

English Teacher Junior Oxford International School, Houjie (September 2013 – July 2014)

I taught English and Maths to children ranging from grade 1 (5 years old) to grade 8 (14 years old). I also taught English to adults of varying ability, as well as individual private tutoring. I have supervised English speaking competitions and created the school’s English written and oral examinations.

Senior Business Associate - Royal Bank of Scotland Group (February 2012 – April 2013)

This required excellent communication skills, persuasion, negotiation and the ability to establish personal relationships, in order to achieve financial solutions.

English Teacher Volunteer Teach Thailand (December 2011)

Teaching English to young learners aged 7-11, in a small rural school with limited classroom facilities. Introduced student-centred learning so that students were actively involved in lessons, using a variety of techniques and resources.
