Employment history

My first teaching jobs below were fantastic and very rewarding opportunities. After starting work as 

a teacher, I soon became passionate and committed about it.

Yali (Beiya Middle School):

Foreign English Teacher: September 2014 – August 2015

 Vastly improved my ability to make myself more impactful and influential in teaching 

presentations, though various ways such as:

o Making my voice heard loud and clear in a large classroom of 60 students,

o Building rapport to keep students engaged with: expressive body language, a friendly 

attitude, appealing lesson content and fun games,

o Trying to create a good lesson atmosphere through confidence and managing team 

games.

Changya Middle School:

Foreign English Teacher: September 2014 – August 2015

 Learned to create lesson content that was useful and worthwhile for both basic and more 

advanced students.

 Learned better how to be firm yet friendly, and how to better take control of a class that starts

to become unruly.

 Private tutoring: November 2014 – February 2015

 In this situation students were like customers, because their parents were paying for this 

additional tutoring. With this in mind, and because there were fewer students than in a public 

school classroom, it was appropriate to set up a more friendly atmosphere with less a less 

formal teaching approach. It was suitable to treat them more like friends, and I really enjoyed 

this different style of teaching.

 I occasionally taught with a Chinese speaker who would aid in the lesson and translate at
