1. Sanbona      Wildlife Reserve  20^th      April 2009 – 13^th March 2010           

Montagu, South Africa      Chef de Partie

     I worked as a chef in the Western Cape. I was always in the company of the guides      employed at the lodge, and through their enthusiasm and help, I decided to change      my career path to guiding. I think in the future, I can always combine the chef work and   guiding very easily and will only be to my benefit.  

2. Nkambeni      Tented Lodge         3^rd      October 2010 – 11^th July 2011

Kruger National Park       Field Guide

·         Worked as a Guide in the Kruger National Park.

·         Game Drives

·         Bush clearing

·         Maintenance work and other lodge related jobs.

3. Shepherd’s      Tree Lodge        16^th      July 2011 – March 2012

Pilanesberg Game Reserve.

·                         Worked as a Senior Field Guide in Pilanesberg Game Reserve.

·                         Did game drives in the mornings and afternoons.

·                         Did maintenance work around the lodge where needed.

·                         Helped with guests’ check in’s and check outs.

·                         Assisted in reception when needed.

·                         Hosted guests at night during dinner.

4. Sanbona      Wildlife Reserve  June 2012 – January      2014

R62 Western Cape

·         Worked as a Game Ranger at Gondwana Lodge at Sanbona Wildlife Reserve.

·         Conducted Game Drives in the afternoons & evenings for International & local clients.

·         Also helped in the Wildlife Department of the Reserve as well as with the maintenance of roads & vegetation.

I left the wildlife industry in December 2013, and went to France where I did daywork on some yachts and returned in July to do freelance work as a chef.

5.  Slippery Spoon Kitchen     November 2014 – June 2015 (Freelance)

·         I worked with Johnny Hamman & Marius Uys at Slippery Spoon Kitchen.

·         We do catering for clients’ at their homes as well as more corporate events and functions.

·         We have done a variety of different catering concepts.

·         The biggest function we catered was for the Kyknet Fiestas in March for 1000 pax.

·         We have done many functions in between for private dinner parties, office end of year celebrations, kitchen tea’s, the launch of “Mooi Rivier” at Kirstenbosch Gardens for 150 pax, wedding for 70 pax in Greyton at “The Oaks” Estate.

6.  Vickie Hardrain           2 Days of Freelance

·         I assisted Vickie (Food Editor of Rooi Rose) with a photo shoot for food pairing for  Nederberg as well as a launch for 2 new Moirs products.

7.  Nina Timm

·         I assisted Nina Timm at various food demonstrations in Cape Town

8.  Isobel Niehaus

·         Assisted Isobel at Kamers vol Geskenke at the Castle in Cape Town.
