PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
I am currently an English teacher at Princess Nora University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I completed my graduate studies at Walter Sisulu University,Umtata, at the Eastern Cape Province in South Africa, where I earned my Honours B.A degree in Languages, with emphasis in Linguistics and I wrote a mini-dissertation on aspects of sense relations. I have completed a degree in Education in Concordia University, in Portland, Oregon, with emphasis on curriculum development and instruction and, also, a minor in ESOL.
My professional experience has given me the ability to speak effectively, manage multiple projects, provide support for others and meet deadlines. As a teacher, I provide a positive and engaging environment for my students to learn English. I am a compassionate teacher who remains sensitive to students’ unique needs, employs effective listening, provides individual and whole group support, integrates multicultural teaching units and offers positive encouragement and reinforcement to keep students focused and motivated. One of the most effective ways that I use to assist students is developing and presenting comprehensible and stimulating lesson plans that facilitate all learning styles. I research, locate and incorporate a variety of resources to accommodate students via visual, audio, tactile and kinesthetic styles.
My education philosophy is: I believe that education is an individual, unique experience for every student who enters a classroom. Firstly, I believe that as educators, we should consider teaching to be a lifestyle, academic learning should begin with motivation and inspiration. My goal is to foster and maintain an open, honest, communicative and a supportive role in which each student feels safe, secure, special, and appropriately challenged.
