Essential Experience

1981–1984  Western Australia    

§ Teaching ESL to children in three primary schools – St. Thomas Catholic School, Maddington Primary and Branfield Park Primary School (also ESL support teacher in classroom). 

1984               Curtin University School of English  Western Australia

§ Duties included teaching ESL to students who did regular courses at a University, marking assignment, supervising and marking exams. 

1984–1998      Technical and Further Education of Western Australia, Adult Migrant and Education Services  

§ Duties included teaching ESL to on-arrival and on-going students of a variety of nationalities (European, Asian, South American, Middle-Eastern, African) and all levels of achievement from absolute beginners to those preparing for tertiary studies, also preparation of materials and course planning for both homogenous and heterogenous groups of students. Courses included, also, those preparing for driver’s tests, course of high proportion of the elderly as well as academically oriented young students.  

1987                 

§ Transferred to Christmas Island to teach ESL and EFL surroundings to students preparing for settlement in W. A. Duties included teaching basic literacy as well as a high level of oral and written skills, and producing authentic communicative teaching materials for all four –language macroskills for all my classes. 

1991–1993      TAFE College Seremban, Western Malaysia

§ Duties included some teaching, supervising and in-servicing of staff and general administration department.

1998–2001      West Coast College of TAFE, West Coast Training Solutions

§ Duties included teaching Migrant Advanced English, Certificate in Spoken and Written English (CSWE IV) and interviewing students according to National Recording System (NRS) scale.

· August 2012- August 2013  University of Nizwa, Oman lecturer in Foundation Institute 

· Teaching academic English to Omani University Students 

· 2012- to date- Teaching students in Russia on-line

2001– to date      Polytechnic West, Balga Campus

§ Duties have included teaching Certificate of General Education for Adults I and II as well as Certificate  in Speaking and Writing Enlish I-IV, Certificate IV in Engliah in Academic Purposes, some coordination  and administration  as well as chairmanship of Quality Improvement Group within the college.

§ 2005- to date, IELTS test examiner for both speaking and writing for Curtin and UWA centres 

§ Additional Advantageous Qualifications

1983

1. Level 3 accreditation in two-way Polish and English translation by National Accreditation Authority for Translation and Interpreters.

2. Reasonable fluency in German and Russian languages.

§ Recognised as equivalent to four years teacher’s training in Western Australia. This course included linguistics, EFL, methodology, literature, descriptive and transformational grammar.
