I was put in charge of the breakfast buffet and assisted in the preparation of the cocktail and corporate functions, working night shift plus Ala Carte (hot and cold kitchen).

-front desk (reception):

The checking in of guests and assisting with guest queries and the handling of payments.

-call desk (switch board), filing, reservation documents, assisting with all telephonic queries / quotations.

-kitchen:

Breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet preparations, Ala Carte food preparations.

Assisting with the monthly stock take and the receiving of orders. The placing of orders via the online e-market and the sorting and filing of the invoices and all other relevant documents.

-Accounts and purchasing:

  A basic introduction into the accounts department, both Debtors and Creditors. Tallying the daily cash received from all departments and capturing the data on to the computer and ensuring that it all balanced.

-Banqueting:

Managing and setting up for various functions and being on call during the function.

-Restaurant:

 Restaurant Supervisor, seating guests, taking orders, assuring each waiter has completed their assigned duties and occasionally private barman during peak periods.
