Teaching Related Work Experience

August 2015 – Present

After taking a long break in order for me to prepare for and start a new PhD in TEFL course, and to allow enough time for the Ramadan religious holiday in Saudi Arabia to end, I finally took a new contract with IGIT (International Group for Training) to work for the Royal Saudi Naval Forces, at their Technical Institute of Naval Studies in Dammam. I am currently teaching English to naval cadets as part of their induction and formal training to join the Royal Saudi Navy. It is an interesting and challenging position.

May 2014 – March 2015

Teaching English in Abqaiq (NITI Institute) and Dammam (Bassam Institute), Saudi Arabia to Aramco trainees, who were learning English as part of their induction course into the oil and gas industry. Two short videos can be seen at the links below.  In the past (32 years ago!) I also taught English, coupled with sales training to adults, for franchises across the Middle East (Dubai, Bahrain, Doha, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia), for around 4 years, for a UK based, fire, safety and security company.
