ESL Teacher Grade 3 and 4

As an ESL teacher in China I have the main responsibility for carrying out lessons to the best of my ability in order to teach English to the children at Xinghai Primary school。

I have sole responsibility of teaching Grade 3, then dual responsibility of teaching Grade 4, my largest class is 57. My main duty is to give oral lessons which will improve the students’ 

speaking ability and confidence as much as possible and keep control of a class of 57 students. Other responsibilities include English lessons for fellow teachers, independently producing 

and submitting lesson plans each week, conducting and grading speaking tests and taking part in many extra-curricular activities with students and teachers. 

Key achievements:

Independently teaching 18 classes a week, class size of 50-57 children

Being asked to be a ESL spokeswomen, delivering a speech to 200 peers and fellow ESL teachers within Suzhou.

Graded an A every month, the highest grade for ESL teaching.

Receiving extremely hight praise from my manager for classroom management and lesson delivery.

October 2015 - Present                                                           

Private ESL Tutor

Suzhou, China. Various locations

Within a month of living in China, I independently sought after private tutoring positions. I soon ending up with 9 students, ranging from 5 years old to 9 years old. 

It involves one to one lessons or lessons with very small classes, an intimate and intensive way of learning for the children. My responsibilities include teaching reading, writing and speaking to new learners, 

producing a fun and interactive way of learning, 

and forming strong relationships with students in order to maintain effective learning and enthusiasm. I pride myself on have flexibility as lessons are often changed at last minuet.

Key Achievements:

Being personally found and asked to private tutor due to recommendation.

Forming relationships on a personal level with not only the students but also their parents, creating a long term bond.

Effectively teaching different content to a variety of ages, leading to one student successfully getting an interview for international school.

September 2013- December 2013

Work experience, Coleshill Heath Primary School.

I spent 4 months taking a one day a week work experience in the year 1 class; I did this while working full time as it was something I wanted to do for my career. 

Working closely with the year 1 class in the daily learning and development. Furthermore due to my Drama history I was asked to be heavily involved in the school Nativity, helping the children learning the songs 

and planning their movements whilst on stage. I gained valuable experience in running a class, different ways of learning and planning lesson.

July 2013-August 2013

English and Drama teacher, South Thailand

I went to Thailand whilst travelling in the summer of 2013, whilst over there I took a 6 weeks volunteering placement at a small village school. I taught the children English and Drama to a range of ages and levels. 

Drama was a key part of the learning as they children could communicate through action and movements as there was an obvious language barrier. Furthermore throughout all my volunteering I created the lesson plans, 

aims of the lessons and a range of difference activities 

to get the children to learn the targets I set out.

Lead In house Graduate recruitment consultant, FTC.

The InvestR Group

Head-hunted via LinkedIN to be the lead and sole graduate recruitment consultant. I had full responsibility to search, interview and offer graduate recruitment consultants to work for The InvestR Group. 

My day to day role included looking through applicants, 

identifying the strong potential recruitment consultants, then scheduling interviews with the directors.

Key Achievements:

Independently running the In House graduate desk.

Within my 5 week FTC I successfully found 6 graduates who were offered the job of Recruitment Consultant.

Offered a permanent position, which was turned down due to my move to china.

Receiving very high praise, and gaining the trust of the Directors including full access to their diaries.
