Tutoring and teaching

Best Learning – English School

For five months I worked as an FT (Foreign Teacher), with differente group levels (PK – Pre-kindergarten, K and G students.) Covered several subjects/topics and activities. My overall number of students ranged between 45-50 students between these different groups. One of my main responsabilities was to create the lesson plans for these classes.

One year teaching oral English at Mango English School. Worked with several groups of 4 to 10 children, 40 hours a week. The children’s ages ranged between 3 – 11 years old. Utilized different materials, including computer software/interactive board, flash cards and text books (MidiSaurus and Discovery Island series ).

During my time at Mango English, I spent several months going to a Primary School in Tongzhou Dt. I worked with 4th and 6th graders. The groups were compromised of 40 to 60 students. I provided a 40 minute class twice a week.

For the last 3 years, I have given out English classes to small groups of people, primarily formed by family members and other acquaintances at the university. I’ve implemented the basic learning process by focusing on Productive and Receptive skills, as well as reviewing Vocabulary, Grammar and Phonology. Educated on the language systems and skills. I have experience in working with students from age 4 and above. Subsequently, I’ve worked as a tutor, supervising and evaluating projects and assignments. I’ve assisted these groups upon applying for bilingual job positions.

Consulting and Community Management

November 2008

I provided consulting assistance to a small group of people in need of basic knowledge and skills on softwares such as Illustrator and Photoshop, for the making and implementation of online advertisements.

Following this, I’ve given assistance as a Community Manager, and I have managed different social networks profiles such Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Youtube, LinkedIn, Behance, Flickr, Tumblr, Nubelo, Instagram, among others.

Freelance       

Presently and for the last three years, I have been working as a Freelancer. Mostly in graphic design and production areas. After taking a couple of classes during the time at school, I’ve acquired heavy background on these fields. Also, given some personal research performed, I’ve been able to develop different skills. My work as a designer includes the creation of banners, posters, flyers, etc. Amongst my clients, you can find commercial establishments and institutions such as Chill Out Place, Retro, Chapeau, Universidad Latina (Heredia), Tablilla PVC,  Costaricabeauty.com, Organizational Consulting Group and En Forma Gym.

Added to this, I’ve gathered some expertise in editing several short films, spots, video clips, among others. Most of the time using the Final Cut Studio and Adobe software.

Elephant Group

Technical Support and IT consultant for Techzilla. Dec 2013 – March 2014

I provided technical support assistance to existing clients, troubleshooting devices such as desktop and laptop computers running Windows and Mac operating systems, network, printers, mobile and other devices troubleshooting issues.

Through this position, I acquired the level of Mac OS technician. I also implemented sales skills to help increase the company’s revenue, by offering their Anti-Virus software and hardware products.

Customer Service Agent and Kindle Tier 1 Representative for Amazon.com and Amazon.com Spanish. May 2012 – June 2013

These positions consisted in providing assistance to english-speaking customers and spanish subsequently, as well as technical support for Kindle users in both languages. During this time, I was condecorated Bronze performer for three months in a row, and Silver and Gold for a month each. I managed some assignments that contributed to the growth and consolidation of the Spanish department.

Acting

Related to my academic experience and the strong taste for cinema, filmmaking and acting, I’ve participated in various independent productions and spots. Also, I have done work as a director, producer, writer and editor.
