January 2009 – February 2016:

Senior Support Worker at Greenlight Gateway, Ballycastle.

I worked at a charity organisation which specialised in helping adults with learning difficulties in work. Duties involved:

• Recycling.
• Gardening.
• Helping with functions.
• Organising rotas.
• Volunteer English teacher. (As part of their “English First”      program, I was one of two volunteer English teachers helping the adults      with basic reading/writing skills. The program was in conjunction with      NRC, Ballymoney and lasted from September 2010 – June 2013)

(As a charity relying on government funding, Greenlight had to lay off six members of staff in February 2016, including myself. Although I am still occasionally involved as an unpaid volunteer.

September 2001 – June 2008:

Shop Assistant at Eurospar, Ballycastle.

I worked as a retail assistant for Eurospar supermarket in Moyle Road, Ballycastle. Duties involved:

• Serving customers.
• Stocktaking.
• Shelf stacking.
• Ordering stock.
• Making deliveries.

HOBBIES AND INTERESTS.

Reading, video games, soccer, golf, darts, watching sports, movies, quizzes, Scrabble.

April – May 2016:

TEFL Training: 120 Hour TEFL Certificate with The TEFL Academy, U.K.

• Creating lesson plans for a variety of levels from      pre-intermediate to advanced.
• Teaching listening, reading, writing and speaking.
• Material and resource creation, utilising the internet for      lessons.
• English grammar and how to teach the essential language.
• Needs analysis and teaching in different situations.
• Classroom management and teaching techniques.
