 University of Leeds New Media Department
 I was given this position as a result of a majority vote taken among students on my
 course. It was then my duty to represent the general consensus of opinions and
 concerns of my peers and further, meet and regularly discuss potential solutions to
 any problems with both my University lecturers and department representatives.
 During my time appointed as student rep I learnt a great deal about leadership and
 public speaking. I had to be able to create a comfortable environment in which
 students on my course felt not only able but willing to address their worries or fears of
 different aspects of the subject in order for me to voice them and attempt to invoke the
 change and progression of the degree.

 The Skyrack, Headingley
Throughout my time in the Skyrack my social skills were continuously being put to use as I would regularly engage in conversations with customers and ensure that they felt welcome and relaxed whenever they spoke to me. I worked with twenty other members of staff which meant that teamwork was essential in order to operate within a successful working environment alongside my colleagues.

I am a confident and determined young individual with exceptional energy in the pursuit of success. I have recently graduated from the University of Leeds with an upper 2nd class Bachelor of Arts honours in New Media, in order to achieve this I demonstrated the ability to research and learn independently and ensure to deliver work of a high standard to specific deadlines. My time working as both a barman in the Skyrack and Student Representative of my course allowed me to further my ability to work well within a team as I would regularly have to meet with managers and University lecturers and relay information which I had collected back to them. This meant that my public speaking greatly improved across my three years at University as it was repeatedly tested and exercised in various professional settings.
