Teaching English in Jiangxi

As an American studying in China, I took my first job as an ESL instructor. I taught English for a year to ESL students in China and helped them further their English education. I undertook a variety of methods and teaching practices to ensure that they received quality instruction. In addition, I received certification to teach English as a foreign language to ensure that my students receive professional-degree education.

During my time in Nanchang, I taught children at Spirit Kids English. My time at SK widened my teaching experience, as I taught students at nearly every age level. With my youngest student being only two years of age—and with my oldest being twelve—I learned to adapt to a variety of different English levels and teaching methods. I am familiar with how to conduct intriguing, engaging, and informative English lessons that will enrich the education of several age groups of students.
Furthermore, I am acutely aware of the struggles and setbacks different levels of students face when learning English, and I know how to overcome these obstacles so that every student receives a top-quality education.

As an American who has lived in the Netherlands, and currently in China, I have much experience in living, working, and studying abroad and can easily adapt to new cultures and situations.
Due to my educational and professional background, I communicate and listen effectively with people of all ages and nationalities.
I have extensive experience in language learning and am fluent in six languages, including: English, German, Persian, Dari, Pashto, and Urdu. My experience in language-learning and teaching gives me extra insight on how to learn languages and allows me to better understand the struggles of ESL students.
