2003 to present:   Examiner with the British Council for Cambridge Examinations (IELTS, Life Skills, Main       

                                 Suite, Young Learners and BEC)

2005 to present:   Teacher-Trainer for the British Council

2009 to present:   Teacher-Trainer for the U.S. Government Access Program in Hyderabad and Bangalore

1986 to 2004    :    Lecturer, Department of English, Women’s Christian College, Chennai

                                 I have also been an Illustrator for children’s books published by Spark India, Orient      

                                 Longman (now Orient Blackswan) and Cambridge University Press (formerly

                                 Foundation India)

2011 to 2012  :      Providing bi-weekly sessions on art at Dhrithi, a psychiatric rehabilitation centre in   

                                 Hyderabad.

Have also done some freelance editing and writing, mainly for NGOs like Anthra and Anveshi.

Material Production

1986 to 2004      :   Material production for Communicative General English programme at Women’s Christian  

                               College, Chennai. This was an ongoing part of my duties as a Lecturer.

2013                     :   Produced first set of material for a British Council online course in Communicative English for

                                  young adults.

 Additionally, I have created language/recreational material for Chatterbox and

                    TeacherPlus, the former aimed at the tween market, and the latter at teachers.

Additional Qualifications

Have been attending in-house ELT training conducted by The British Council (2003 onwards) and the USIS RELO (2009 onwards).

Have also completed e-courses in Critical Thinking and Assessment Practices held by the English Department of the University of Oregon, and the University of Maryland respectively. These were sponsored by the US Access program.
