1989: Member of CSA (Ceramics South Africa)
1990: Style Magazine Design awards. Tea Set Competition. Won the ‘Ethnic Category’.
1990: Won the Pentagraph Award for Best Student of Design.
1992: Won First National Bank Prize for “Decorative Ware” at the 1st Corobrik Ceramic Exhibition.
1992: Article in National Ceramics Quarterly magazine, featuring my ceramic work.
1996: Highly Commended Award from Cape Gallery for Ceramic vases at Western Cape Regional Ceramics Exhibition.
1996: “Your Family Magazine” article August 1996, “Creative Ceramist”.
1997: Ceramic Work accepted for Permanent Collection at South Africa Iziko Cultural Museum in Cape Town, South Africa.
2012: Won International Teapot Competition with Maritime theme, in Portugal, called “Seapots”.
2012: Winning “Fish Teapot” part of permanent art collection at the South African Embassy in Lisbon.
2014: Article in CSA magazine (Ceramics Southern Africa) on “Whimsical Waves”, a solo exhibition of my ceramics.

Work History and Teaching Experience:
1991: Teaching Adults Pottery Classes at Kim Sacks Pottery Studio in Johannesburg, South Africa.
1991: Teaching Mould-Making workshops to members of CSA (Ceramics South Africa), Johannesburg, South Africa.
1992: Worked as a decorator for “Jan’s Jungle”, Johannesburg, South Africa. Painting ceramic African animals for Export.
1993: Overseas in UK travelling and doing a Christian Discipleship Course. (DTS YWAM, Scotland)
1995: Travelled and worked in North India. Taught pottery at Woodstock International School in Mussoorie, India, for 4 months.
1996-1997: Worked at The Pottershop studio and Gallery producing ceramic work for International Trade fairs. ( Hamburg and Frankfurt in Germany, Malaysia, New York).
1997 December : TEFL course , completed.
1998-2001: Returned to Northern India (Mussoorie). Invited by Church Organisation to set up a creative employment project (Jayanti Crafts), specialising in Designing Paper-maché crafts for export as well as teaching the local Indians and Nepalis mould-making skills as well as decorative designs and techniques. Managing the project and also marketing the paper-maché crafts in Northern India.
2002: Worked in Boston MA, USA at “Feet of Clay” studio in Brookline Village, producing Ceramic Teapots for a USA collector of my work.
2003: Married
2004-2013: Overseeing the Children’s Ministry and training up volunteers to teach lessons at All Nations Church in Worcester, South Africa.
2008: Teaching Life Skills part-time for Grade 3-4 at Worcester Primary School.
2010: Teaching Art lessons (Still-life drawing) to underprivileged farm workers’ children.
2014-2016: Teaching Primary School Art (Grade 1-7) at Ambleside School of Hout Bay, Cape Town, South Africa. Implemented new USA based Art Curriculum. ( Mona Brooke’s method).
2016: Self-Employed, Producing Ceramics for Solo exhibition and orders for local shops and Galleries.
2017: 140 Hr TEFL course completed ( i-to-i TEFL )

1986: Matriculated. School of Art, Ballet, Drama and Music, Braamfontein, Johannesburg, South Africa. Distinctions and awards for Graphic Art and Design.
1987-1990: Technikon Witwatersrand, (now called University of Johannesburg.) Studied Ceramic Design.
1990: Graduated with ND diploma and a distinction in Studio Ceramics.
1990-1992: NHD in Ceramic Design at University of Johannesburg.
1992: First Solo Exhibition of Ceramic work.
