Whilst at university I worked on a range of subjects relating to immigration, migration, the work place, environmental politics, democracy and local governance.

I gained an improved awareness of equality issues, economic and social benchmarks and their implications.  I specialised in studying the results of British empiricism.

In my time at college, I established a strong interest in social sciences and the associated social policy issues. I achieved passes in 12 different units, including philosophy and economics.

•         Whilst at Langside College, I achieved Highers in modern studies, history, sociology and psychology.

Shawlands Academy, Glasgow

•         I was a pupil at Shawlands Academy and left with Standard Grades and Highers in English, computing, drama, modern studies, social vocational skills and administration.

06/2003 – 7 2006

My role at the Hidden Gardens was to assist in organising events ranging from cultural and religious celebrations to facilitating workshops and learning programs with children from elementary and high school students.

OTHER

2000 to 2004

Whilst attending School I also took part in the Govanhill Social Inclusion Project youth group: ‘Future Visions Youth Action Group’ or better known as Gosip. During my time there I facilitated workshops in primary schools and collaboratively wrote, produced and executed programs with community oriented plays working with Police Scotland, local government and Sense over Sectarianism. The project helped me develop skills and confidence with working with people and as an individual. My time at Future Visions Youth Project also acted as a platform for gaining skills, confidence, contacts and my first job.

My academic, social life and interests has given me a passion for working with local community projects and an insight into young learners from ESL and native backgrounds.

During my spare time I like to socialise with friends, attend concerts, play capoeira, football and coach. I also like music and movies.
